Are your flowers and shells real?
Yes! As I am travelling around Australia and a big believer in shopping small, I source my Gypsophila from local florists. I have been very lucky so far to find florists to work with in creating my colours. My shells have been collected from beaches around Australia. I make sure I am aware of collection laws and never collection from conservation lands and all shells are uninhabited.
What do you mean by hand pressed?
Instead of traditionally pressing flowers in a flower press or books to dry and flatten, I air dry my flowers in full bunches, then cut, prepare and press the flowers flat in my fingers before placing in each piece. Instead of having a completely flattened flower, this allows them to be pressed enough to fit in each piece but still allows the petals to have some volume.
How are the flowers dyed?
My Gypsophila are dyed using the absorption method. The stems are places in vases of coloured water and left to soak up the colours over a few days.
Why are some colours vibrant and others are pale?
Some parts of the flowers will naturally absorb more water than other parts, therefore absorbing more colour into their petals. If you would like a brighter or paler piece, please email at firstname.lastname@example.org before placing an order.
Will you be making your pieces using other flowers or items?
Yes. The best way to see what's new is to follow me on social media.
Do you make custom orders?
I am open to creating a custom order for you. Please email me at email@example.com to discuss your options.
Will the colour fade over time?
No. The flowers are sealed before using, protecting their colour. Also the resin I have chosen to use is very high quality and UV protected. This means, if the resin piece is taken care off correctly and not exposed to direct UV light, it will last longer. All resin will amber over time.
Why can I see small bubbles in the products?
These bubbles are formed from the natural gasses all organics contain. While I do my absolute best to avoid bubbles, I cannot always control the gasses each flower holds. Consider these another element to making your piece one of a kind. These bubbles do not "weaken" or are in any way damaging to your jewellery.
I'm not happy with the colour or flower placement in the piece I received, can I swap it?
I really want you to be happy with your item, so if flower placement or colour isn’t to your liking please email me straight away at firstname.lastname@example.org. I am happy to swap an item providing I have another one in stock. Postage will be at the buyer's expense.
Is your jewellery designed for everyday wear?
Due to resin turning amber over time, I do not suggest wearing your piece every day. I have designed these pieces to be delicate and fine for special occasions. Please do not expose the resin to direct sunlight and avoid sunscreens, moisturisers, make up etc. I suggest not swimming or showering in your piece.
Will my piece yellow?
Short answer, yes. Due to the sensitivity of resin, the UV light can make your piece discolour. This is something I still research constantly in hopes to find better resin to delay this but at this stage, it is not something I can avoid. This is where the care instructions come in handy, if you look after your jewellery by wiping it over, avoiding water and make ups etc, snd most importantly avoiding direct UV light.
How do I care for my jewellery?
I recommend taking your piece off before showering, swimming, exercising etc. Please avoid contact with direct sunlight, perfumes, chemicals and moisturisers. I do also recommend wiping your jewellery over with a clean cloth after wear, this will ensure the silver does not tarnish and the resin stays clean and clear.
Can I swim or wet my jewellery?
A splash of water wont hurt provided its wiped off but I do not recommend swimming or showering in your piece.
What is your returns policy?
I do not accept returns for change of mind. I am however happy to exchange an item within 14 days. Postage is at buyer's expense. If an item is damaged, please contact me ASAP at email@example.com.
How long before my order is posted?
I will only be updating the store with products that are ready to post, so please allow 2-3 business days for orders to be shipped. Also note, I do travel around Australia and occasionally visit places without a parcel service, If this is planned, I will update postage details via social media.
Do you ship internationally?
No, unfortunately not at this stage.
